2016 and 2017 were watershed years in the formation of Two Rocks State Emergency Service, providing coverage to Perths rapidly expanding North West Coastal corridor. The District Officer, and Superintendent together with an SES volunteer and City of Wanneroo personnel collaborated to have the new unit declared by DFES Commissioner Klemm on the 18th of January 2018, and was subsequently published in the Government Gazette on the 23rd of February
A motivated and enthusiastic group of 15 foundation member volunteers, started meeting and training from October 2017. Now as we launch our web site and social media numbers are rapidly growing. Unit members are undergoing SES Unit Member training and preparing to serve the community.
Come along and be a part of the first brand new W.A. SES Unit formed in more than forty years. Join us in supporting the Wanneroo-Joondalup, Northshore, Stirling, Bayswater and numerous other SES Units around WA and the rest of Australia
We are co-located with the Two Rocks Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade, and we welcome that interaction as well as the support we can provide for the Two Rocks Volunteer Sea Rescue Group, W.A. Police and local St Johns Ambulance volunteers.
We provide emergency services such as;
- Storm damage – including shoring and temporary repairs to homes,
- Attending motor vehicle vs house incidents to assist the fire brigades,
- Working alongside WA police and other incident commanders, we are the designated combat agency for land search functions, including locating missing persons and objects, and
- Supporting the Volunteer Fire Brigades, providing logistical support such as refilling of water bombers, and relief transport.
